VOTD #6 (The Simpsons)

What's up guys!!!!! So for today all of the MADPP students had joined a run under a program organized by Ministry of Youth and Sports. It is an annual program and for this year Kuala Kangsar was chosen to be the host for Perak. It is a tiring day but fun and a lot of activities were organized by them such as 5 km and 10 km run, 30 km cycling, zumba dancing, and sports exhibition.

In Malaysia, we have such a sporting minister, YB Khairy Jamaluddin 

Enough with that Fit Malaysia and Fit Perak. Let's proceed with the vocab of the day and the characters for today are from *drum rolls* The Simpsons.

1. Cajole- to persuade somebody to do something by talking to them and being very nice

Due to Homer's health condition he was not allowed to consume fast food and this situation had made him to cajole Marge into giving permission for him to go to the burger shop.

2. Canvass- to try to persuade people to vote for a particular person or party in an election

Mayor Quimby is trying very hard to canvass the residents of Springfield and he was almost caught by the police because of bribery for his position to be the president of United States of America.

3. Capitulate- to stop fighting and accept that you have lost; to give in to somebody

Bart is matured enough to differentiate between good and bad and made him to capitulate even though he still have a chance to win the fighting competition if he continued for the rematch.

4. Capricious- changing behavior suddenly in a way that is difficult to predict

A series of failure and frustrations faced by Lisa made her to become capricious, lonely, secluded and this situation somehow has produce a large gap between her family and herself.

5. Ceaseless- continuing for a long time without stopping 

Ned Flander were detained in hospital for another one week because he was not fully recovered after working ceaselessly at the farm because he want to earn extra money for his children's education.

VOTD #5 (The Fairly Oddparents)

What's up guys !!!!! Let us give a round of applause to the characters from The Fairly Oddparents. So let get started with our agenda today.

1. Abashed- feeling guilty and embarrassed because of something that you have done 

The news that reported Jorgen committed suicide had made Timmy Turner abashed because he had made fun of  Jorgen that made him depressed the night before and now he regretted his action.

2. Abdicate- to give something up, especially power or a position

Due to the economical factor that becoming worst day by day had forced Mr. Chester to abdicate his position as a president of his country to be given to his deputy president which he seem more qualified rather than him.

3. Abhorrence- strong feeling of hate ; disgust

Queen Vicky had made an unreasonable rule whereby all of the citizens of her country been banned from using internet and the action had caused her protesters to express their abhorrence towards her.

4. Accolade- a comment, prize, that you receive which shows people's high opinion of something you have done

Wanda had received ultimate official accolade from the President of the United States of America based on her achievement in finding the new planet that is suitable for living which had surprised the world especially NASA

5. Abstinence- stopping yourself from having or doing something that you enjoy

A.J  financial crisis made him to abstinence from buying new clothes every week and his decision finally give some benefit to him when he can save a lot of money for his education.

VOTD #4 (The Adventure of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius)

 What's up guys !!!!! How your day? I hope that you are doing well. So, for today special character will be the cast from The Adventure of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius

1. Connive- to work secretly with somebody to do something that is wrong

Sheen had connived together with Carl Wheezer to get rid of Jimmy Neutron in order for them to become the next successful scientists and this is undone without the creative strategy given by Sheen.

2. Shoddy- made carelessly or with poor quality material

Cindy had told all of her friends to ban Luxim Salt, handbag store that sell almost all of the handbags which are shoddy and her action had caused the handbag store in a state of bankruptcy.

3. Tumultuous- very noisy, because people are excited

Libby had been missing from Ms Fowl at the Justin concert and the tumultuous situation at there had made some trouble for Ms Fowl to find Libby and made her to wait until the concert over before continuing her search.

4. Anguish- great mental pain or suffering

Hugh Neutron has amazed the world when he finally succeed to build a business empire even though he had an anguish fighting for live yet this does not make him to give up, giving his motivation to improve himself.

5. Mystify- to make somebody confused because they cannot understand

Judy was mystified by the riddle left by the kidnapper that made her to hire professional investigator to solve it so it will show the location of Nick if she succeed to solve the riddle and she had to move quick.

VOTD #3 (Family Guy)

What's up guys!!!!! The characters that were chosen by me for today VOTD is Family Guy; give a round of applause to them. So let's get started.

1. Meagre- to show lacking in quantity of quality
Peter and Stewie have to make sure they made an enough preparation to survive in the Gobi Desert expedition because they only have meagre supply of water resources for another fortnight at there.

2. Mete- to give somebody a punishment; to make somebody suffer bad treatment
Several penalties: imprisoned for 10 days and fined for $100 were meted out by the court to Joe because he was caught stealing a brand new television at the mall.

3. Purge- to remove people you do not want from a political party or other organization
Cleveland carried out a purge to Chris from his Science Project Group because Chris did not show any interest towards the project that had been carried out by their group members.

4. Mediocre- not very high quality
Lois had been fired from her previous job because she always shown a mediocre achievement in her task compared when she was accepted to work there.

5. Conceivable- possible to imagine or believe
Herbert had made a conceivable idea about the future planning for the company to produce a greater income in order to amaze his supervisor and on the same time not really ridiculous.

VOTD #2 (Phineas and Ferb)

What's up guys!!!!! For today edition the characters are from Phineas and Ferb

1. STARTLE- to surprise somebody in a way that slightly shocks or frighten them

Candace startled her mother when she decided to learn culinary arts even though all of her siblings are doctors and this did not made her to give up  to become a pastry chef.

2. RELISH- to enjoy something very much

Phineas relish to be as a volunteer for the Belgian red cross that helps the refugee around the world because he has the empathy towards those who are in need especially children who had lost their parents.

3. DREAD- to be very afraid of something

Isabella canceled to join the survival trip with her friends when she knew that they had to live in the cave because she suffers from claustrophobia which is dread to be in a confined space.

4. FRANTIC-  very busy or done in a hurry way

Ferb that returned home late last night cause him overslept and late for the annual general meeting at his office had forced him to get ready frantically for work.

5. AMBIVALENCE- showing a mixture of opinions about something

Jeremy felt an ambivalence about whom to invite to his birthday party because he was scolded by his mother when some of his friends cause a fire at his home during his birthday party last year.

VOTD #1 (Spongebob Squarepants)

What's up, guys!!!!! For those who do not know, VOTD is just an acronym for Vocab Of The Day.
For today edition, the characters will be from Spongebob Squarepants

1. RECEPTIVE- ready to receive new ideas or suggestion 

As a group leader, we should be more tolerate and receptive with our group members in order to make sure all affairs went smoothly.

2. POUNDED- to hit something hard many times making a lot of noise

Plankton who just saw a burglar try to rob his neighbor house pounded the church bell to awake all of his neighbors and warn the burglar.

3. SCUTTLE- to run quickly with a short step

The mouse who just ate the cheese at the kitchen scuttled around the house to save his life when the cat tried to chase him.

4. RELUCTANT- not wanting to do something because you are not sure it is the right thing to do

Mr.Krab was reluctant to follow his friends to the club because he has an economic class on that day but he did not want to hurt their feelings.

5. CONSENT- to allow something to happen  

Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward need their parent's consent for them to attend a survival camp because it will cause troubled for them if they did not get their parent's approval.

Movie Review: Theory of Everything

What's up, guys!!!!! Ok for today I'm gonna make a review for a film entitled 'THEORY OF EVERYTHING'. This is a romantic story between Stephen Hawking who is a Ph.D. student of Astrology in the University of Cambridge and Jane Wilde who is also a Ph.D. student of literature in French. This film taught the viewers about the value of perseverance shown by Jane Wilde while handling his husband, Stephen Hawking who suffered a motor-neurone disease. Mmmmm🙎🙎🙎 I've always wondered has Stephen suffered the disease since in his childhood and had to use the speaking-inator since then? The answer is no.

This is because he suffered the disease soon after he had a head injury after had an accident at his university.

FUN FACT: This film is adapted from the memoir wrote by Jane Wilde Hawking Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen

So, patience does have a limit when Stephen live longer than he should, Jane sometimes felt annoyed and fed up when had to handle Stephen because what she wanted is a normal life and everything changed when she met Jonathan at church. Jonathan assigns Jane to be in the church choir group and he willing to teach Jane's son to play the piano. Jane and Jonathan become closer day by day because almost all house chores they've done together.  This made Stephen feel sad because he can't do what Jonathan can do and his relationship with Jane is not too close like before. He contracted pneumonia when he attends to an opera performance at Bordeaux and this causes him to undergo tracheotomy and will make him unable to speak. Even though he had a disability to talk and had to use built up voice computer to communicate, this not stop him to be successful and he managed to write a book 'A Brief History of Time' and it had won the International Best Seller Award. 

THREE INTERESTING WORDS

1. IMPREGNABLE- unable to be destroyed

Sir Arthur who is the knight of Zathura Kingdom had never lost in every war because he is impregnable

2. PREPOSTEROUS- absolutely ridiculous 

Wright Brothers had been teased and be laughed by all of their villagers when they tried to make people fly by inventing the aeroplane because the villagers thought the idea is preposterous.

3. ENDEAVOR- try hard to achieved something

The Malaysian football team is endeavoring to win the match against South Korea to qualify them to the final stage of FIFA World Cup. 

One lesson I learned from the movie is hard work will pay us. If we keep giving excuses without trying we would not achieve the target in our life. This lesson had successfully been showed by Stephen Hawking when he suffered the motor-neurone disease. He had a disability to walk properly and had to use crutches to move from his hostel to the university. If I was in his shoes I might give up and maybe could not complete my studies but not for Stephen, he managed to complete his thesis and his professors were really amazed by his thesis and awarded him as Doctor of Philosophy in Astrology. As time passes by, his diseases becoming worst and he had to use a wheelchair everywhere but still not made him lose his hope to prove his theory about Black Hole.

     What's up, guys!!!!! Hello and hi to all my blog readers. To be honest this is my first blog since I've existed in this world. So please don't get bored with my posts because I'm new here. Before I proceed I would like to share my experience when I'm registered at KKTM  Lenggong for MARA American Degree Preparatory Program (MADPP). A week ago I received a text message that informed me to check whether I'm qualified to continue my studies under MADPP at KKTM Lenggong.

The place that I will stay for another 8 months

 I was really excited to know the result. My heart pumping really fast when I opened the link. Alhamdulillah, I am really grateful when I got the result. Hurray!!!!!!!!!! I will register on 3rd of May. So there will be a lot of work to do in this week before I register there. This is what a hectic life would be. So brace yourself there are still a lot of work to do. I hope that I will not regret the choice I made because this is one of the fastest routes for me to become a criminalist in Forensic Science. It was a cold morning at Lenggong. My family and I arrived there approximately at 8.00 because we head to Lenggong at 4.30 a.m. There were only a few who arrived early at KKTM Lenggong. The Early bird catches the worm so I'd finished my registration at 9 o'clock in the morning and had a lot of time to make up my room and enjoy my leisure time with my family before they returned to Putrajaya.
